Lovers’ Injustice

The impending distance is still

Incomprehensible –

Yet often when I look at you

There’s a feeling

Hovering

somewhere between us

Like dust which only glitters in rays of sunlight,

Which bodes loss and injustice

To soon be harvested from life;

A conscious ungratefulness

That the virtue of your kind would entirely forbid,

For I keep forgetting

That life was the one who mused you;

Who cast your disposition and your presence unto me.
